This poem, written by Sue Pyron, beautifully framed and measuring 8 1/2 x 11, is the story of a little ferret, abandoned in a hot home, left to fend for himself. A young child comes to his aid and takes him to a shelter. She comes back to the shelter later to find that he remembers her. The shelter mom is sure he will be loved by this little girl and she allows her and her mother to adopt him. The first part of the poem is below. (Stuffed ferret not included.) RESCUED
Come here little ferret you've got nothing left to fear.
Don't you know that someone cared, twas love that brought you here?
Someone found you starving on your own and so alone.
They brought you here oh little one, that you may find a home.
This shelter as it's called will be a safe and healing place.
Here you'll rest, regain your strength, & maybe see the face.
The face of one who brought you here, you really couldn't see.
Your eyes were tired, your body numb for you'd been there a week.
